I Like Halo

I'm not going to race out and buy a Nintendo game system any time soon, but today as I shot down my 6 year old niece's and 8 year old nephew's soldier guys I had a revelation. I like Halo... I REALLY like Halo. I only got to play it for about 30 minutes (I guess the normal play time is hours... and sometimes there are sessions that run for days???) but in those 30 minutes I found myself cheering myself on when I managed to kill my opponents and yelling out G rated obscenities when I got killed. I'm NOT very good at it: I can't manage to figure out how to correctly/adeptly manipulate the little thing that controls where you look or how to fly the stupid Banshee, but I like this game. Even when I was getting shot left and right by my nephew, who I found out from my older nephew was cheating by "screen hopping", I was still having fun. I'm not advocating violence, here. As someone who works with teens I know full well what can happen to kids when they get too wrapped up in video/computer games. I'm just saying that I played it, I liked it, and I'll probably play it again at some point... after all, I gotta practice and get better so I can beat the poo outta my 6 year old niece... she was such a freakin' bragger today!

A rainbow colored, abscessed, monster of a thing.

Originally started October 2018. Gosh, I've needed to write for such a long time. I can't even get into journaling for some reason. I don't even care if anyone reads this, that's not the point... I just need to talk - unhindered and unfettered - talk. Y'know how when you get a splinter under your fingernail and you can see the thing so you know it's there? So you get your extraction tools: fingernail clippers, tweezers, maybe a sewing needle or push pin, if you're my dad you get a pocket knife... if you're over 35 you get your reading glasses... you get peroxide or rubbing alcohol... everything you need and then you go in for minor surgery. August 23, 2007 - Thursday On Again Off Again Current mood: tired Category: Life If I believed in astrology I would make some kind of comment about how today the moon must have been in the 6th house and Saturn was surely aligning with Pluto because why else would my day have felt so "off" and ended up with me in tears? After all, any true music proficionado would know that an ON day would consist of the moon being in the SEVENTH house and JUPITER aligning with MARS... A.K.A. the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius. I do not, however, believe in astrology. I am most certainly a fan of the 5th Dimension (Marilyn McCoo was so foxy back in the day!) but I'm not a fan of crediting or blaming my "off" days on the alignment...
