Spring Break 2007: Day 3, Morning Edition

Phew! I'm getting a late start today. I've actually been working!

I had a hard wake up today, I think it's cause I'm hanging on to this cold I've had for the past two weeks. Ugh! Anyway, I didn't sleep very well but I managed to get up and ready and once again I rolled in at 9:40. I parked on the street (didn't get a ticket yesterday, yay!) slid in the side door of the mall, sidled up to the Nordstrom espresso bar and ordered my drug of choice and some breakfast. The Nordy girls were rockin' as usual and my enorme' coconut mocha arrived at the end of the bar in all it's splendor. Those girls always treat me right, too. They hook me up with the whipped cream on top.

I verbed everything that needed to be verbed, opened up the joint and sat down to start my seemingly unending shift. Since I was here yesterday and I didn't write myself any notes I went ahead and logged onto the internet to check email. I messed around with my camera phone, did some cool stuff with MS photo editor and then fazed out for a few.

Around 11:15 the Fed Ex guy (very cute) dropped off the boxes I'd been waiting for. Even though I know he didn't mean it, he said, "Hey, where you been? I've missed you!" Sigh. As if. I signed the little computer thing and Mr. Fed Ex guy said, "What's your first and last name?" (normally he only asks for my last name...hmmmm. LOL.) I told him and he said, "Great signature, so why haven't you been here?" I explained the day-job thing and being on spring break. He said, "Oh! A teacher, huh? 'Think you could teach me a thing or two?" I blushed and laughed and said, "Don't you have places to be, mister?" He laughed, said, "Bye Stephanie," and was gone like the night. Sigh...again.

After taking a second to be still my beating heart I went into the back room and tore into the boxes. I pulled out the stuff I needed to check in and went to work doing just that. We just got the new Elvis themed picture and it's pretty cool. I'm sure all the Elvis aficionados out there will be pleased. I have always loved Elvis' music. I used to think my dad kind of looked like Elvis...and Johnny Cash, too. It's that black hair thing. I was pretty sure I was going to marry Elvis when I grew up. I cried for a whole week when I found out he had died... We've actually received quite a few calls on it: people wondering when the painting would be in. Well, it's here folks, and I just hung it on the wall!

Okay, I gotta get back to work for a bit.
