| Current mood: Category: Life So I’m at the bro’s house tonight. I’ll be leaving soon because I just found out about an hour ago that my parents are headed out of town... definitely for the night, possibly for the weekend... YESSSSSSSSSSS! I have to get a quick (yeah right) blog in here, however, because I’m still not online at home. Oh there are computers in the house that can access the internet, but I’m not allowed on them because logging on to Myspace and Yahoo can ruin a computer... Did you know that? Now, before you think I’m heading into a rant, let me stop you. I am totally okay with the fact that a person who owns something should have the right to dictate who can use it and how it can be used. My only issue is that I asked, before I moved in, if I would be able to hook my computer up when I moved in and was told that I would be able to. Ahem. I moved in on December 31, 2007. That’s all I’m saying. I do have internet on my phone, which means I can check messages on Yahoo and Myspace, and change my status (since I know how many of you are checking in on me, lol) but blogging is really quite difficult on my little phone key pad. It would take me a year to text the stuff I write - verbosity and all. Shoot, I have enough problems with text messaging! Besides, I’m a pretty darn fast typer... typist... it would be a waste of time to waste my typing skills on a phone key pad. So, I’m blogging here, eating up the shrimp salad that my sister-in-law told me to eat so it wouldn’t go to waste, and keeping Gruff company while he licks his chops because he thinks I’m going to give him some shrimp. Ummm. No. The room: the painting is not complete. I was supposed to do the ceiling today but it never happened because I had some other stuff I had to do. I have a Beth Moore video that I need to watch tonight, and I got a copy of Bladerunner from Joshie that I’ll watch after that. If I’m sleepless in Too funny. I just took a bite of the shrimp salad and Gruff made this noise with his mouth... like his teeth were chattering... and he had the most pathetic look on his face. He was begging! What a goober! I wish I could convey to him that it would make him sick... yuck. That just took me to a mental image I did NOT want to think about. Moving right along. So, even if I get the room done by tomorrow night I still can’t move in. The whole point of ME doing all of this over spring break was that I thought I’d be able to move in. I talked to my Dad last night and asked him what was next after the ceiling. (Bite of shrimp, chattering teeth. LOL.) I told him I wanted to try and move in on Sunday. He said there was no way because they didn’t really have anything for the floor. I looked at him, looked at the HUGE roll of carpet (Sip of Diet Dr. Pepper, chattering teeth. *grin*) and said, "What’s that?" Well, apparently they have carpet but it’s not what they want to use AND they have no padding to go under it even if they did want to use it. Mind you my mom is JONESIN’ for me to be out of the guest bedroom... almost as much as I’M JONESIN’ to be out of the guest bedroom. My dad, on the other hand, is just along for the ride it seems. Suffice it to say, I will NOT be in the new room by the time spring break comes to a close. Plus! I have absolutely nothing to show for my spring break this year. I did nothing cool, nothing vacation-y, I didn’t even get to have quality time with any of my adult friends because they all had cool stuff that they were doing. I DID get to spend time with RJP, and that was great, but we were working... you can only have so much fun when you’re working... although we did have as MUCH fun as you can have while working. (Bite of shrimp, chattering teeth. I’m putting him out, now.) Funny sidenote to the whole computer thing. Since I don’t have my computer hooked up I have been typing a few blogs on my dad’s game computer in the garage. (It’s NOT connected to the internet.) I type on my "breaks" from painting when I feel high and need some air or when I’m frustrated and need to process. It’s an older computer so I’m not sure if I can attach my removable drive to it to move the blogs over to a computer that IS connected to the internet. I may have to go hunting for a floppy diskette to copy the blogs, and then put them on my brother’s older computer and then send them to my yahoo email so I can get them on THIS computer and post them. It’s a lot of work but they’re pretty funny blogs so it’s worth it for me to see them in "print." Plus, I know at least ONE of my friends will get a kick out of them. (Holla back, Now there’s no danger of anyone getting to the blogs on my dad’s computer... remember, "Logging on to Myspace and Yahoo can ruin a computer." Yeah. That’s what I’m up against. I’ve hidden the blogs, pass worded them, encrypted them... Someone would have to call in a professional, or a 6th grader, to access my stuff, and professionals are the LAST people that get called in our house - my frugal father is WAY too practical to do that. (I’m not making fun here, he’s as pragmatic as they come and most of the time it’s a real money and time saver... MOST of the time.) So maybe I’ll work on getting those blogs transferred tonight, watch some movies, and maybe make brownies or a cake. The possibilities are ENDLESS! But most important, the possibilities are mine ALONE!!!!!! SWEEEEEEEEET! ...and the parents are probably saying the same thing wherever they are. |
